Nothing ‘Grand’ about it : Grand Masti Review

Udayavani Sep 2013

What is this movie made up of?  Director Indra Kumar may have had sleepless nights working on this project after a gap of seven years .The script writers have worked hard in making this film which has hidden innuendos. The title itself is a glaring example. Removing a word or two from the title ‘Grand Masti’ can have severe ramifications

The opening scene of the movie begins with the three superstars giving Gyaan on the new definition of ABC’s and the trio are in college!! The heroes Aftab, Vivek and Riteish look too young to be in college and even after six years they look the same!! It’s like TV soap where the parents of the daughters and sons are young even after 200 episodes.
There is no message in this movie absolutely whatsoever and women are treated like products and nothing less. It’s more than an adult movie and less than a sexual comedy unable to strike balance between the two. The director gets confused about the plot and the narration and what he has to offer to the Indian audience.
The songs are not hummable while most jokes watched in the promos are the only highlights while most jokes are flicked from SMS!!.

Woman alleges bus conductor of harassing her
DaijiWorld Sep 2013

Mangalore, Sep 14: A young woman has lodged a complaint against a KSRTC conductor for mentally harassing and humiliating her during her journey from Mangalore to Bangalore recently.

In her complaint, Rashmi stated that she had booked a ticket for Rs 600 from Mangalore to Bangalore through KSRTC online booking portal.

On September 10, she boarded the bus (KA 3008 as mentioned in the complaint copy) alone, carrying with her a copy of the e-ticket, and copies of her driver's licence, pan card, passport and her original photo id of the company where she works. As per the complaint, the conductor accepted her e-ticket, but refused the photocopies of her other documents and asked her to produce their originals as identity proof.

"He stopped the bus in the middle of a forest ahead of B C Road at around 11.30 pm and screamed at me to get down from the bus right away or pay him Rs 600. He was yelling and shouting at me in front of all the passengers and degraded me in public. He got the driver to stop the bus three times and asked me to get down on the way," Rashmi stated in her complaint.

Rashmi refused to pay him the money as she had already paid while booking the ticket online.

"My mother also called the conductor as well as the TC requesting them to let me travel but was treated in a very ill manner," the complaint stated.

To calm down the situation, a fellow passenger paid the conductor Rs 600 after which she was allowed to travel, Rashmi said.

Rashmi demanded strict action against the conductor so that other travellers are not humiliated in a similar way.
