Welcome to Green Valley School,

Mrs. Whilhelmina Anna Swyney Mathew has joined Green Valley National School & P U College as Head of Department of English and Chief Coordinator. She has 23 years of teaching and administrative experience at College and School level and has been credited to have successfully taught and coordinated all levels from pre primary to senior secondary levels at reputed national and International Schools. Her recent Assignment has been as a Senior Lecturer and Faculty of Education Co-ordinator at Villa College, managing Research and Writing for Degree Classes, General English for Foundation Programmes, Linguistics for ESL Degree, Phonetics and Phonology for ESL Degrees for Malaysian University programmes. She is also a trainer and Examiner for Trinity College London English Language Examinations in Schools.

She has also served the Ministry of Education, Republic of Maldives as a co-ordinator and Senior Teacher for 13 years in schools affiliated to University of London and Cambridge University for their O, level and A’ level Examinations.She is of British origin and has always maintained excellent academic record having the privilege to be educated in prestigious hill schools at Ooty. She holds her Master’s Degree and B.Ed Training in English Language from Anna University and has done an additional Taining in the Montessori System of Education from Woodland School, Colombo. In India, Mrs. Whilhelmina Mathew has been one of the strongest pillars as coordinator of Combridge School Mangalore, MES Central School, Kirpal Sagar Academy (International School), and was an active associate with Ivy League Programmes. She is dynamic and active and well proficient in latest trends in education and well exposed to the use of Technology and Multimedia in education. She has a proven track record of successfully managing and guiding academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in leading Schools in India and abroad and will certainly be an asset to Green Valley National School. Mrs. Whilhelmina Mathew married to Mr. John Mathew is an exceptional teacher and administrator par excellence and is a resident of Primrose Cottage, Ooty.

GVNS is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination New Delhi (CISE) up to Class X and to the Karnataka State Pre-University Board at the +2 level. The medium of instruction is English. The School admits both boys and girls for all classes, based on their performance in written test.
Students’ performance is evaluated on Semester basis through 2 unit tests and 2 assessments, spread through the academic year from June to April, for classes LKG to X. We offer English as the first language and Kannada/Hindi as Second language.
